Introduction

Bollywood films, known for their vibrant visuals and emotional storytelling, hold a unique place in shaping cultural narratives and audience experiences in India. This collaborative study examined how different generations (Gen Z vs. Gen X) and professional backgrounds (filmmakers vs. movie buffs) perceive and process such films. Using eye-tracking, facial emotion recognition, and SAM self-assessments, we analyzed gaze patterns and emotional responses across genres to uncover deeper insights into cinematic engagement.
